Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

Everything you write stays on your device. Daily Diary has no accounts, no cloud, and no servers of ours. We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data, and we cannot read your entries.

What this policy covers

This policy explains how the Daily Diary mobile app ("the app", "we", "us") handles your information. It applies to the app published by NoBrainer Tech on Google Play. By using the app, you agree to this policy.

Your entries stay on your device

Your journal entries, titles, moods, photos, and videos are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else. We operate no servers that receive your content, and we have no way to view, access, or recover what you write.

Information we do not collect

Photos and videos you attach

When you attach a photo or video to an entry, the app asks your device for permission to access your media so you can pick a file. The file you choose is copied into the app's private storage on your device. Nothing you attach leaves your phone. The app does not use your camera or microphone.

App lock

If you enable the optional app lock, your PIN is stored on your device in secure storage as a salted, hashed value — never as plain text, and never sent anywhere. If you enable fingerprint or face unlock, that check is performed by your device; the app never receives your biometric data.

Exporting and importing your data

You can export a backup of your diary at any time. A backup file is created only when you choose to export, and it is saved wherever you decide to send or store it using your device's own sharing tools. The file never passes through us. Importing simply reads a backup file you select. You are in control of these files.

Purchases

Daily Diary offers an optional one-time "Pro" upgrade. Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details. We only receive confirmation from Google of whether a valid purchase is active, so the app can unlock Pro features. Google's handling of payment information is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Deleting your data

You can delete any entry, or use "Delete All Data" in Settings to erase all entries, media, settings, and the app lock from your device. Uninstalling the app also removes all of its data. Because nothing is stored on our side, deletion on your device is complete and final — please keep a backup first if you want to retain anything.

Children's privacy

Daily Diary is a personal journaling app intended for a general audience. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
